The biodiversity of lakes, rivers and wetlands of eastern Ontario has been profoundly impacted by human activity. Effectively monitoring biodiversity, invasive species, and species-at-risk is key to effective conservation of our watersheds.
This event will present novel tools that we are developing for monitoring biodiversity with hands-on drone and environmental DNA demonstrations. Included will be some presentations on major aquatic invasive species impacting our region, local species at risk, the progress of our ongoing work, and an open discussion/question period on freshwater issues.
The event will be held at our Elbow Lake Environmental Education Centre on Thursday October 27th starting at 5:00 PM. We will supply coffee and tea.
