In 2001, a parcel of land along the Massasauga Road was donated to the Biological Station. A second parcel was donated in 2002, and a third soon after. Combined, these landholdings totalled 593 hectares and were named the Massasauga Tract. The northern part is largely farm fields associated with the homestead on the eastern side, as well as rocky hills interspersed with beaver ponds and pothole lakes on the western side, giving way to mixed forest and wetland in the southern reaches.
