A new organization called "WaspWatcher" will be at QUBS to talk about and to show participants a fascinating native species of "digger wasp" named Cerceris fumipennisthat collects adult wood boring beetles (Buprestidae) to use as hosts for its larvae. Apart from being attractive and fascinating (and not stinging humans), these wasps have been shown to be very useful in monitoring for Emerald Ash Borer. Come and learn about them, sign up, get your official "kit", and join the exciting and potentially very valuable search and monitor program.
