Working on Ice Safety Training

February 27 & 28

FEBRUARY 27 & 28, 9:00am-4:00pm each day

Two-day course is for individuals that perform duties on and around ice, including researchers, technicians or on-ice recreation enthusiasts.

Participants will:

  • Identify and work within legislative requirements and responsibilities for working on and around ice.
  • Identify various ice conditions
  • Conduct and document a hazard size assessment, a safe work plan and an action plan in case of an incident
  • Identify, inspect and utilize personal protective equipment
  • Perform self-rescue and rescue of a colleague.

TRAINING IS PROVIDED BY ACCESS RESCUE CANADA

HOSTED AT THE QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY BIOLOGY STATION

Course Options:

Days Only- $150

  • 2-day ice training safety course
  • lunch each day

Overnight- $185

  • 2-day ice training safety course
  • lunch and dinner on Day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 2
  • overnight accommodation Wednesday night
