FEBRUARY 27 & 28, 9:00am-4:00pm each day
Two-day course is for individuals that perform duties on and around ice, including researchers, technicians or on-ice recreation enthusiasts.
Participants will:
- Identify and work within legislative requirements and responsibilities for working on and around ice.
- Identify various ice conditions
- Conduct and document a hazard size assessment, a safe work plan and an action plan in case of an incident
- Identify, inspect and utilize personal protective equipment
- Perform self-rescue and rescue of a colleague.
TRAINING IS PROVIDED BY ACCESS RESCUE CANADA
HOSTED AT THE QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY BIOLOGY STATION
Course Options:
Days Only- $150
- 2-day ice training safety course
- lunch each day
Overnight- $185
- 2-day ice training safety course
- lunch and dinner on Day 1, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Day 2
- overnight accommodation Wednesday night
