Bo-jian completed his BSc degrees in Pharmacy and Psychology at Wuhan University and Huazhong Normal University, respectively. He did his MSc in aquatic biology at Chongqing Normal University and graduated with a PhD from Ecology from Beijing Normal University. He is interested in understanding the physiological and behavioral strategies of animals to environmental stressors and interactions between native and invasive species. As a postdoctoral fellow at Queen's University, his new research focus centers on understanding the impacts of human activity and climate change on biodiversity in aquatic ecosystems. His current work integrates GIS, niche modeling and environmental DNA data to assess the determinants of species distributions for species of conservation concern and to monitor amphibian diversity in near-real time.
